Each of the 50 cards in this deck contains one of Manager360 trainers’ favorite, most insight-producing questions to ask in weekly 1-on-1 meetings. Here’s how we recommend using this deck:
- Pick your questions. Before the 1-on-1 meeting with your employee, select 5–7 questions to ask. Don’t just pick the easy ones! You can also randomly select one question to add some variety.
- Ask, and listen. Ask the questions you’ve chosen, being totally present and open as you listen to the response. Be prepared to be flexible in your conversations to make sure you are addressing your employee’s concerns and challenges.
- Record action items. As action items come up in the discussion of each question, write them down. Then send a follow-up email so you and the employee are on the same page.
